Is the studio a good piece of hardware? Is it a decent blend of modern computer based producing and old school hardware? Ideally I’d be able to use the Mpc software as a vst and route it to individual channels be able to edit/mix them in reaper to finish the track. I see videos of people chopping up songs and manipulating them in older Mpc’s and it just seems like there’s more creativity doing it that way. Get the sample in the machine and manipulate it from there. Right now I’m working in reaper with a midi controller to do my beats and stuff and I just kind of want that more classic workflow. Load a loop from the library, chop it into samples, lay down a beat, then play instruments over it to add more melodic textures. I’m really interested in getting into the Mpc world but I’m not sure exactly what I want and if I can even attain it in my price range.
